An easy way to get a guy to bolt it after the first date is to grill him on his political views, whether or not he wants kids, and other topics that can make the date go from fun to fuck this. Instead, wow him by living in the moment with him. You're just trying to get to know each other and check out the vibe. By being present, you're being less judgmental, a better listener, and an overall cool girl.

This is a nice way of saying don't dominate the conversation. Sure, nerves can get in the way on a first date, but by being present and enjoying the moment, it'll become much easier to give you both equal broadcasting time while actually getting to know each other. In the end, dating and communication are two-way streets.

If done well, dating should be fun! If you lighten up and start enjoying the best medicine around (laughter), then you can easily wow your date. Men tend not to ask for much, other than to feel great with you and have things in common. Show a sense of humor and you'll never notice the time fly by!

#4 Live Your Personal Brand

Be who you say you are! Your personal brand is what is driving men to ask you on dates, so be true to who you are and be true to what you present. Women need to show up looking like the pictures they posted online and they need to present themselves as described. It is important to be true to yourself when messaging and texting so that you can act like the gal you were when you were flirty, funny or sexy during the messaging stage.

Do not set yourself up to fail by pretending to be overconfident, bold, wild or fun online and then clam up on the date. Know what you want ahead of time, so you can steer the conversation and activities in that direction. If you know that sleeping over right away is not what you want, do not allude to it in the chatting phase and then shut things down when he goes in for the kiss at the end of the night.

Remember that the generally preferred outcome is a second date – so work backward from your goal and create an experience that will get you to the next step. You do not have to interview your date to determine if he is The One. Your goal is to have fun and show him all of the things about you that your ideal mate will find irresistible.

#5 Dress sexy but ladylike, the same with the makeup

Wear makeup, but make is very natural. Arrive on time. After some initial introduction, do not talk but listen. Ask a flirtatious question, maybe about his work. For example, he is in finance. Ask: You must be very math gifted to work in finance. I really know so little about it. Never found out what APR is. They say that the mathematical formula APR follows is so complex.

The guy expands enthusiastically, and you nod, flirt with your eyes only, make eye contact and, at the end, exclaim: Thank you for explaining it so well! Now I understand it all! You also complied with the law and provided me with APR! Flutter your eyelashes, flutter your eye lashes, flutter your eyelashes. The guy laughs and happily tells you how smart you are.

Obviously, ask the question to what you know the answer, or read about it. During his speech, make meaningful comments. Pay for your meal at the end of the dinner. Depart. He would be dying to meet you again soon and will tire you with texts and calls. There is a drawback to this method: he will expect this to continue, he talking, you listening and making smart comments. On the other hand, he will be coming for more all the time.

#6 First impressions

So you’re about to head out on a first date with a guy you’re really into. First impressions are important but the good news is, making a great impression isn’t all that complex. It can be easy to build it up in your head and overthink things. Stressing about exactly which shoes or dress to wear or how to do your hair is ultimately irrelevant. Since you’ve already confirmed a date together, he’s already decided you’re physically attractive.

From this point he’s far more interested in how the first date ‘feels’.What this really means is easy conversation, shared interests and a certain level of comfort. It can be a little intangible but think about it this way. The best dates are the ones where you don’t realize hours have passed by and a second date practically planned itself.

If you really want to give yourself an edge here, work on your conversation skills. Practice the idea of conversation threading and how to lead a conversation. If he’s nervous at first, having the ability to lead that conversation for a few minutes could be just what the date needs to mellow. Ultimately, wowing a guy on a first date is just about having a fun time. Simple, right?

#7 Love yourself first and everything else falls into line

Picking outfits for a date can be stressful. Should you wear heels? What about jewellery? What do you wear when you want to wow your date? No matter what you decide to wear, confidence is important. You should make a great impression, but also be yourself. Make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing.

Avoid outfits with spaghetti tops, mini-skirts, or dresses that are too short. This is not the time to show off that much-too-short cocktail dress and six-inch heels. Don’t wear anything that’s too tight or risk having a dangerous wardrobe malfunction! Now, time to accessorize! Choose accessories to illuminate your natural features.

For example, maybe turquoise earrings bring out your eyes. Jewellery catches and leads the eye, so use it to bring attention to the features you want to highlight. With a stunning pair of earrings, you can make your date (and maybe others) stare in awe. And remember, keep your wardrobe simple and let your personality shine, if it's meant to be, it will be. If you accidentally spill your drink, have a clumsy fall, or make a dumb joke, if he’s into you, he’s into you!
