1. Go Hammocking

One of the most relaxing ways to spend time outdoors is in the perfect hammock with either a book, friend, or just taking a quick nap. You can enjoy the gorgeous sunshine and lovely outdoors by simply hanging out. The more friends you find to go hammocking with you, the better—find a stunning location, two trees, and you’ll achieve utter relaxation.

2. Go Rock Climbing or Hiking

This is a great way to get your exercise in for the day while simultaneously taking in the sunshine. Take the time to research spots in and around your area with awesome rock outcroppings. More and more people are utilizing the numerous health benefits that hiking has for your body, so get out and enjoy the movement this summer.

3. Host an Adult Scavenger Hunt

Gather your friends and put together a scavenger hunt for one of those hot summer weekends. This will take some planning—come up with a list of various ambiguous descriptions (i.e. something blue and larger than a maple leaf) that your friends can use as clues. Be sure to print off enough copies for everyone, and go on your merry way.

4. Take a Day Long Bike Ride

Instead of a road trip, take a bike trip! Before you go, make a list of the different stops you’d like to visit—that bar with your favorite patio and wine list, the local ice cream shop, or the waterfall in the nearby forest preserve. No matter where you decide to go, you’ll have a great time biking with your loved ones. You’ll enjoy the company and you’re sure to end the day with unforgettable memories.

5. Visit a Farm and Pick Your Own Fruit

An awesome way to support your community and get outside, consider visiting your local farm and picking out your own produce. You can either decide to go to the farmer’s market or find a local farm that lets you pick your own fruits. Cherries, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, and more are all in season during the summertime. You’ll never want to buy fruit from the grocery store again!
