#1 Destination Humanity… Applying Behavioral Science to YOU!

Destination Humanity - Milky Way Destination Humanity... Applying Behavioral Science to YOU!

We all dream about living happy, healthy and productive lives. My mission is to inspire you to make your dream a reality!

My life passion is empowering people to apply lessons learned from behavioral science to create positive changes in their lives. Strategies based on behavioral science are the most powerful tools to facilitate long-lasting changes for people in their lives (e.g., learn NEW skills, increase QUALITY of life, improve PRODUCTIVITY, or STOP bad habits)... unfortunately, however, many of the books in the field are written for practitioners and not your average, everyday person which makes it very difficult to get the word out into mainstream society more broadly. In order to disseminate the information effectively and efficiently, part of the solution is to write and publish a book, which uses common language (rather than technical jargon) and real-life examples to illustrate the concepts, that can be easily accessed by everyone so they can start to take action for positive change in their own lives by utilizing lessons, strategies, and techniques based on behavioral science.

My new project is a book, based on my life, about how to apply lessons learned from behavioral science to improve your own life. I'm seeking support to bring this project to life! If you're interested in learning more about the project I'm working on, please check out my Kickstarter campaign (don't miss the video I made!!): http://kck.st/2EbGR6R

Thank you for your support and for spreading the word!

#2 Hidden Animals: A Collection of Cryptid Fiction

Hidden Animals: A Collection of Cryptid Fiction

Dragon's Roost Press is raising funds for Hidden Animals: A Collection of Cryptid Fiction on Kickstarter! Dragon's Roost Press is at it again! This time we've put together 30+ short stories of great cryptozoological horror.

Dragon's Roost Press has collected over 30 short stories featuring some of your favorite cryptozoological creatures. We will be publishing them in a two volume anthology this spring. As with our previous anthologies Desolation: 21 Tales for Tails and Eldritch Embraces: Putting the Love Back in Lovecraft, a portion of the proceeds of the new anthology will be donated to the Last Day Dog Rescue Organization.

The LDDR rescues animals from high kill animal shelters and those which sell them to research facilities and fosters them until they can be adopted by their forever families. We adopted our two dogs from LDDR and we use our anthology sales as a way to pay them back.

We have lined up some great stories for our latest anthology from some of the best dark speculative fiction authors writing today. Visit our current Kickstarter campaign for links to the new anthology as well as the Dragon's Roost Press back catalog.

#3 Schippertainment… Schip to it and be entertained!

Schippertainment... Schip to it and be entertained!

As the end of 2017 approached, it was obvious the world needed a little humour. So, Richard Davis began writing short stories about his life with his Schipperke dogs. Richard is a War Veteran who has dedicated his life to others, through his choice of career, and also through his charity work (just last month he helped donate 400+ toys to Children in need for Christmas!)

The stories in this book are about life and death and all the strange and wonderful stuff that goes on in-between. Some are memoirs, some are about the day to day occurrences of life with dogs, and some are just plain 'out there!'. They all have one thing in common: You won't forget them.

#4 A Brotherly Lesson

A Brotherly Lesson

A Brotherly Lesson is a 40+ page children's guide to understanding that mental illness exists, it can affect you or the ones around you, and there are ways to overcome it.  The story focuses on a young boy whose older brother is no longer interested in spending time together due to his unhappiness.  Although they once spent their days climbing through caves, flying high into the sky, or escaping from erupting volcanoes, Robbie is battling with his mental illness and doesn't have time for more adventures.  Through talking about the issue, supporting each other, and reaching out to others for help, Robbie and his little brother, Bryan, learn how to support each other's health and get back to their fun!

The book addresses difficult lessons but uses appealing illustrations and a vibrant story to make it accessible to kids.  In addition, there is a set of discussion questions at the end of the book to help spur conversations. Whether you are a teacher, a librarian, or a parent, this book is a fantastic starting place to show children the reality of mental health.

The project was written by a mental heath advocate to share many of the central lessons of mental health to a younger audience.  He partnered with an elementary school teacher and self publishing veteran to ensure that the book is written so that elementary students can effectively comprehend it.

The proceeds from the campaign will go towards costs of publication.  The author and illustrator have the goal of making copies widely available to local libraries and schools in the Central Ohio area and beyond.  The proceeds will make widespread production and distribution possible.  Thus, any proceeds from Kickstarter will go to offsetting these costs.  The book is in its final stages as of 1/8/18.  It will be ready for publication within a matter of weeks.

  1. The brother sounds very sad, in total despair. How does the medical community define sadness and other normal emotions (human responses to events) as different from “mental illness”? Does this book make clear the distinction so we can all understand?

#5 How I Became A Sushi Chef

How I Became A Sushi Chef

"How I Became A Sushi Chef" - A Memoir by Kaz Matsune.

This is my story of becoming a sushi chef with no professional experience and teaching people how to make Sushi.

I finished writing the 120,000 words/300 page-manuscript. Now, I need to hire an editor to finish the book.

This is my third book and very first Kickstarter campaign, so I could use any help I can get.

Please see my campaign on Kickstarter for more details.

Thank you!

#7 The animals of the world beg you to back GEB!

The animals of the world beg you to back GEB!

HI!

I've written a book called Geb: Garden of the Gods, and I would like to tell you about my kickstarter for cover art. I believe this is the appropriate thread to post. If not, I'm sorry about that and did not mean to break with the rules.

I began this project a few years ago with my friend, Dave MacRae. Upon his passing, I retained full rights. Our dream was to create a family friendly fantasy series that could be used to help educate, and help the environment.

(Please note, this project is part of my non profit, but this is not a fundraiser for a non profit, this is a fundraiser for cover art of the novel)

Geb is a family fantasy series, that's intertwined with my non profit of the same name (which stands for Geographical and Educational Betterment). The purpose is to encourage readers to participate with us, in real life as well as in fiction, to help make the world a better place!

The Plan:

I want this novel to have multiple covers, each cover being used at different venues for different purposes (such as helping animal preserves to fundraise for animal protection)! This means funding cover art for the novel. That's where the kickstarter comes in.

What is Geb:

The story itself is set on a volcanic island in the middle of an ocean, 100 years after giants have left the Earth. There you see a populace of spell casting people, as they struggle with a world that has become gigantic all around them! The novel takes you through the world, introducing you to the politics and mentalities of those on this island nation. Not everyone who disagrees is a bad person, and not everyone who agrees is a good person. It's here that you are pulled into the society, as they struggle to live with each other, while using magic to stop conflict and save the day!

Introduction:

Imagine a world filled with magic, ruled by Giants who took what they wanted, and laid waste to everything they saw! When disaster hit, they left for the stars, leaving a magical race of people to defend and cure the mess they left behind. The Gigans promised to return when the world was healed, causing strong political divisions with the custodial race. It's been over 100 years since the Gigans have gone, and the island nation of magically endowed people are faced with their pressing return. Plants, animals and insects have since thrived, granting them an enlarged presence on the planet. These enlarged and now giant animals, have resulted in avianators who ride the backs of hawks, and squirrels who are used as pack mules.

What will the people on the Island of Geb do? Will they try to explore the planet, and stop the return of the Gigans? Will they prepare it for the return? Or will they keep the planet in a state of disaster to discourage the Giants' return?

I hope you enjoy this project, and become an active participant with this family friendly fantasy series!

You can visit here for more details: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/geb/geb-garden-of-the-gods-cover-art

And if you are a Non Profit who helps the environment or animals, give me a ring!  I'd love to work with you!

#8 “1918” THE BOOK. WITH 100 ILLUSTRATED POSTERS.

"1918" THE BOOK. WITH 100 ILLUSTRATED POSTERS.

1918. A Book Project of illustrated Posters.

A historical Documentation of fascinating Posters around the political, socially and also propaganda activities in 1918.

I am Tim, a media designer and artist. The combination of image and text has always been my passion. Especially early movie posters I always found fascinating. At some point I accidentally discovered various image archives on the Internet and discovered a huge number of film and propaganda posters. These were mostly filed as a raw scan document. Most posters are free available and legally not copyrighted, they are classified as a "public domain" and therefore usable for everyone.

From thousands of posters I have now selected 100 pieces that use very special illustrations, colors or typography. They are all very striking and fascinating. A large part comes from the USA, here are also artworks with it. Also some European posters are included. Thematically there is a great variety of posters, recruitment, war bonds, support of the Red Cross or the war women. But also nutrition and careful use of resources played a role. The book "1918" contains 100 posters from the period 1917-1918. Not exactly every date could be defined, the majority is from 1918. 100 years, 100 posters, 100 drawings. Make 100! Make History! We also offer framed Artprints in two sizes as Reward. They are manufactured and printed in the US. Shipping is only to the US, unfortunately it's too expensive to Europe.

#9 The Heart of The Divine

What I'm Trying to Do:

It has been an amazing journey to watch a simple idea unfold into an actual book. After years of blood, sweat, and tears, it's finally time to present this piece to the world for everyone to see! I have decided to go in the direction of Self Publication and I need some financial assistance to do so.

What I've Already Done:

The book is completely finished so for those of you who are ready to sink your teeth into an excellent read, you won't have to wait very long after the Kickstarter has finished.

I have already determined where I will publish the book and the costs that are included therein, which is all included in the goal for the Kickstarter.

I have already paid an artist for the artwork on the cover and I think he did a fantastic job! You can see his beautiful work of art as the main picture in the Kickstarter as well as the options for the poster. (Also, as I mentioned above, this book is the first of a trilogy. When I have successfully completed the second book in the trilogy, I will present some new artwork that will coincide with all three books. So, that means that the artwork here is exclusive to my Kickstarter Backers.)

What Still Needs to be Done:

I want to make sure that my readers enjoy this book to the fullest extent so I have chosen to hire an editor.

The story still needs to be brought into the physical form as a printed book. This is the part that will take the largest chunk of the finances and it's also the most important.

#14 A Conversational Guide To Backcountry Equipment

A Conversational Guide To Backcountry Equipment

People often face the frustration of using outdoor products ineffectively. We’re passionate about our pursuits, but have few meaningful ways to learn about the gear and clothing we use. In response, “A Conversational Guide To Backcountry Equipment” combines in-depth discussion with step-by-step photos, giving readers tools that maximize their outdoor comfort and fun.

The book captures nuance and explains detail in a practical way that readers can immediately use. Full-color images give visual learners easy access to complex concepts, and support the text even in relating ways of using the body to effect change in equipment. The book is not, in any way, a catalog of specific products. It is instead fashioned to help readers evaluate whatever products they might encounter, while also learning to evaluate their own needs and budget.

#15 #ACPSLLC Bookstore & Event Center

Join our Kickstarter campaign

Articulate Communication Publications, SLLC is dedicated to leveling the playing field for #GoIndie authors across the globe. Our objective is to coordinate the "Perfect Storm to Greatness," through the various mediums of publishing, producing, branding, formatting, promoting, marketing, blast campaign reviewing, blogging and editing functions. At our new “Brick and Mortar” facility, we will feature our conference rooms as event centers, for author’s benchmark situations, as needed.

ACPSLLC is a Christian based organization desirous of bringing positivity and innovation to the family-oriented community of Bristow, OK. As small business owners, we wish to boost the economy by enhancing the artistic goals of authors, musicians, entrepreneurs, and performers; to curb delinquency in the community and augment the historic value of Route 66.

We fell in love with this 30,412 square foot historical site where we will use each square foot to enhance a life. The possibilities of other buildings on Route 66 and other pieces of open land for building a newer more modern facility have also caught our eye. The feasibility of building new vs restoring an albatross is tempting. Each link will take you to that portion of the building we are considering.  But as we move forward we will add the pictures of land where we have considered a newer modern high tech, low drag flagship.

#16 Traveling with Fish … a Travel Novel by LB Sedlacek

Traveling with Fish ... a Travel Novel by LB Sedlacek

After inheriting a cabin, a travel writer and her family move from the North Carolina mountains to the coast with their dog and fish.

Being a North Carolinian often comes with a true love for North Carolina.  One of my first and most favorite poetry chapbooks is "The Cat and the Carroll A. Deering & Other North Carolina poems."  It contains poems all about North Carolina legends and true tales.  It was really fun chapbook to write.

"Traveling with Fish" is my travel postcard in literary form all about the NC coast near Hatteras.  It's a story that evolves from a travel writer inheriting a fishing cabin from an acquaintance she barely knows and how she and her sons, husband, their dog and their fish all move together and adapt to life on the coast.

#18 Miss Spiritual Tramp of 1948: FemmePunkPoetry

Miss Spiritual Tramp of 1948 cover

Miss Spiritual Tramp of 1948 is a mini-manifesto: pro-soul, pro-sex, pro-love. Poems exploring my relationship with God, Carl Jung, J. D. Salinger and lap dances converge into sticky bliss, sometimes TMI and always, always honest. Whether spiritualist, misfit, feminist or all three, Miss Spiritual Tramp has something for everyone(ish.)

(CW for intense, graphic language; sexuality; trauma; honesty.)

A bit about me!:

I wrote my first novel when I was eleven; since then, I’ve dreamed of having a book published. While I’ve been published before (stories, articles, etc), I consider this book my first official release. It is time to manifest this dream with your help!

My $400 goal will publish 50 copies of my poetry book via a local Halifax printer, Halcraft Publishing. (In the first video I originally say $350; this was before I had knowledge of the Kickstarter payment fees. Woops!) Any donation over $15 will receive my thanks by way of a free, signed copy. If for whatever reason you want to opt-out of your copy, let me know. Any extra funds will support myself and my partner while I continue to follow my dreams, including but not limited to starting my own publishing company. Help me spread my words, and the words of others!
