Swimming pools are great. Nothing quite beats taking a dip on a sweltering hot summers day. However, it’s very important that you properly maintain your swimming pool. A pivotal part of maintaining your pool is your pool test kit. Here are the 3 best pool test kits.

Aqua Chek TruTest Digital Reader

By far the best pool test kit is the Aqua Chek reader! The small, digital device may seem unimportant, but boy does it pack a punch. Within a staggering fifteen seconds, the TruTest reader can give you accurate, reliable reading on the pH levels of your pool, the Alkalinity, Chlorine, and even Bromine levels, which really ads to the versatility of this test kit.

The reader’s casing contains a fairly-large LCD screen that allows you to easily see and record the results, displaying levels of multiple chemicals all at once. Overall this is a fantastic pool testing kit for indoor-outdoor swimming pools and spas alike, providing you with accurate results for a respectable price. If you don’t have all the time in the world to stand around dropping chemicals and paper into the water, and would prefer to waste a maximum of fifteen seconds, then this is the digital reader for you!

LaMotte 2056 ColorQ Pro 7 Digital Pool Water Test Kit

LaMotte 2056 ColorQ Pro 7 Digital Pool Water Test KitIf the previous kit wasn’t for your liking and you would prefer a bigger kit that is able to take more readings and give you more detail about the health of your pool, then this is ideal. As well as being able to measure the usual levels of chlorine, pH and Alkalinity, this kit is also able to test for Bromine, Calcium Hardness, and Cyanuric Acid. The kit’s broad range of uses makes this ideal for a professional pool cleaner, however, its traditional chlorine and pH readings mean that it is also great for your average pool owner, just looking to keep their pool in tip-top condition.

Overall this is a good kit that comes with a handy carry bag to keep everything together. While most of it can be done with a digital system, the test for Cyanuric Acid does require tablets, although they are included which is great!

HMDPHM80 Digital pH/Temperature Meter

HM Digital PH-80 Digital pH/Temperature MeterNot everyone needs a pool test kit that can give them every reading under the sun, and all they may want is to be able to take the temperature and measure the pH so that they know whether it’s safe to swim in it or not. If that is the case for you, and you are interested in an incredibly simplistic tester, then this is by far the best choice for you! You can test the pH and temperature with the touch of a button, which makes it really easy to operate if you have wet hands etc.

Although it is simple to use, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be used for more complex readings and it has the option built-in to change the “safe” pH from seven all the way up to four (Not exactly recommended), as well as the option to log multiple pH levels so that you can compare how your pool’s pH changes over time. Overall this is an incredibly powerful pool test kit that is in disguise, making in perfect for anyone and everyone.
