From the Contributor: A gift I would LOVE is throwaway clothes. Really. People say they bring old tee-shirts and gloves they dont want anymore to leave at the starting line (hopefully donating the clothes to a good charity), but I am very possessive of all my running shirts and clothes. So one year my dad bought me some super cheap gloves and plain shirts and sweaters.
Since they were given to me with the sole purpose of being used as a starting line donation to keep me warm on a bad weather race day, I had no qualms using them. I don’t know if you are a runner yourself, but there is nothing more miserable than freezing in your running clothes, or starting a race drenched.
