David L. Goetsch is a widely-published college professor and corporate trainer who has authored multiple books on workplace safety and health (as well as books on related topics covering quality management, supervision, and leadership).  Goetsch is also the CEO of David L. Goetsch & Associates, a corporate training and consulting firm.

This comprehensive text (approximately 530 pages cover to cover) is a current and concise guide covering the basic information required to understand occupational safety and health standards in the United States.  This book’s text is further supported by web-based resources, and it also focuses on standards set by OSHA, NIOSH, and other regulatory bodies who have workplace jurisdiction within the 50 states.  Finally, the recent emerging trends in occupational safety and health are addressed as well.
