The Very Best 6 Lego Games You Can Buy Online Now

Whenever the cinemas open up and welcome another hit blockbuster, we all wait eagerly to see the Lego version hit our video game shelves. Over the years the franchise has established itself as one of the leading companies for addictive-levels of fun gameplay and great value for money with their light-hearted nature, massive semi-open worlds and absolute ton of collectibles.

Most gamers will have invested dozens upon dozens of hours into these serially playable instalments, but they still remain some of the best games for newer fans to dive straight into.

#1 LEGO Harry Potter Complete Collection

Released in October 2016 as a bundle of two games, Lego Harry Potter follows the course of the entire Harry Potter storyline we all saw on the big screen. Being praised one of the best Potter games of all time, the humour and light-hearted approach to the franchise won over plenty of fans and critics alike.

The attention to detail in locations, characters, and the whole Potter universe, on the whole, is something that any fan of the film will be pleased to see. With dozens of your favourite characters available for you to play with, the possibilities are endless over how you want to experience the wizarding world.

#2 LEGO Racers 2

Released for the PC, PS2 and Gameboy Advance in 2001, this game really is one of the vintage sellers in the Lego world. With an impressive take on a Mario Kart sort of design, LEGO Racers 2 allows you the total freedom to build your character, racing car and even roam around the worlds you find yourself in.

The graphics and gameplay haven't aged too terribly, considering we are talking about a game that was released seventeen years ago, and there is still plenty in this installment to easily suck up a good few hours worth of gaming from any LEGO fan.

#3 LEGO Star Wars

One of my firm favourite games ever, very few games are as addictive as LEGO's take to the first six films in the Star Wars franchise. The detail in the characters and level design aside, this game runs as smoothly today as it did when it was very first released across all the major gaming platforms. With hundreds of characters available to play with across all six films, the game massively rewards players for replaying their levels.

Fully customizable characters are also available to send to any level you wish, and with a superb multiplayer option readily available, this game is the perfect precursor to the LEGO Force Awakens game.

#4 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

The biggest and best-selling installments in the entire LEGO world, the Marvel Super Heroes series really does a stellar job in showcasing the true scope these video games can reach. Featuring dozens of your favorite superheroes from the Marvel world from across the ages, the sequel to the immensely popular and critically praised 'LEGO Marvel Super Heroes' gets all the basics right and then adds a whole load more good stuff on top.

The gameplay runs beautifully, the humour and cutscenes are as engrossing as they are hilarious and the replay value of the game will ensure that this will be one of the safest investments you're going to make all year.

#5 LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean

Another one of my personal favorites, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean does arguably the best job of any LEGO game in encouraging exploration through its twenty beautiful level designs. Blending in the perfect balance of action and puzzling, the first four films in the hit Disney series are all yours to replay through.

Complete with some of the most iconic moments in the franchise, delivered in a way that only LEGO can do, the swashbuckling adventure gives you all the customizable rewards that you would expect of it. The multiplayer experience in this game also remains one of the most polished in the entire franchise, adding a fresh and rewarding level of depth to the game that might have otherwise been missed.

#6 Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

'Beyond Gotham' is the third instalment in the LEGO: Batman series released in the DC Universe and bears all of the familiarity and recognisable traits that will make any previous LEGO fan fall in love with the game, whilst simultaneously adding plenty of new and exciting features  to keep the game fresh and compelling. Featuring the ability to play with any of your favourite heroes and villains from the DC Universe, the game has won acclaim for its visuals, humour and the sheer amount of content you get for your investment. In terms of looking for a superhero adventure in LEGO form, there are few better than this feature.
