5 Summer Essentials for The Beach You Don’t Want to Forget

Summer is near, and soon it will be warm enough to enjoy a fun day at the beach. However, when the time comes, many of us become so excited that we forget to bring our summer essentials for the beach. Leaving behind one important item, such as sunscreen, could potentially ruin your entire experience. To ensure this doesn’t happen to you, we’ve prepared a beach essentials checklist.

Sunscreen

This might be the most important thing you bring to the beach this summer. There are a variety of sunscreens available—it comes as a spray, lotion, and can even be organic; however, The American Academy of Dermatology recommends you buy sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Be sure to keep applying said sunscreen approximately every two hours.

Sunglasses

Along with your skin, you will also need to protect your eyes from the ultraviolet rays emitted from the sun. During your time on the beach this summer, wear your sunglasses as often as you can. There are plenty of cool styles out there, so wearing them throughout the day won’t be a problem.

Water

If you’re out in the sun all day, it’s important you take the necessary steps to avoid dehydration. Remember to bring plenty of water with you whenever you embark on a summer outing. Additionally, you also want to be wary about using a plastic bottle. When plastic is exposed to heat for long periods of time, it can become toxic. Consider using a reusable water bottle the next time you head to the beach.

Flip Flops

It is never fun getting sand in your socks and shoes when visiting the beach. Make sure this doesn’t happen to you by keeping a pair of flip flops on hand. Flip flops are great because you can slip in and out of them easily—you don’t want to walk around barefoot too much because the hot sand and potential sharp objects pose a threat to your perfect day at the beach.

Towels

The final summer essential for the beach is towels. Whether you choose to lay out and tan or decide to jump in the water for a good swim, having a beach towel is imperative. Towels will allow you to easily dry off between beach activities and also protect you from the hot sand.

If you’re planning on spending a lot of time at a nearby coast, or are taking a trip to an awesome beach on the other side of the world, using our beach essential checklist will ensure you have a great time.
