In the winter months, however, it’s best to avoid this as much as possible, as snowplows can block in your car and throw salt. Another issue with street parking in the winter is other drivers. Washing your car is one of the best ways to protect your vehicle from the elements this winter because it removes road salt and slush. Regular car washes can also remove any excess buildup from underneath your vehicle and near the tires, where corrosion can easily occur without your knowledge.

If you don’t have a garage or car shelter, the best option is a car cover. It will serve as a blanket for your vehicle and protect the paint, windows, and mirrors from elemental damage.
