Many fans may have herald of this race as it is one of the most famous in the world, but for those that aren’t too sure, this Group 1 Thoroughbred flat race is held in Paris, France at Longchamps racecourse on the first Sunday of October each year. The event not only has a beautiful track but also allows you to enjoy a drink whilst you watch in the lovely weather, as Paris often has highs of 23°C in the month of October.

Another great thing about taking a trip for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe race is that once the races have ended you are able to enjoy everything that Paris has to offer as the racecourse is only 9km from the breathtaking capital city.

Palio di Siena

Although not the most famous of races, the Palio di Siena is run twice a year in Siena, Italy surrounded by beautiful Tuscan buildings. If you enjoy visiting cities with a rich history and old architecture then you won’t want to miss out on the Palio di Siena. Not only does it provide you with a beautiful holiday location but the race itself is an amazing site itself, with the track is within the sandstone buildings of the Piazza del Campo and crowds gathering to spectate. Not only is the Piazza del Campo a popular spot for horse racing, but also attracts a lot of tourist attention during other time of the year as it is considered one of Europe’s most medieval squares.

Dubai World Cup

The Dubai World Cup is well known in the horse racing community for being the richest horse race around the world, with a purse of $12 million. The race is an amazing site for anyone, avid fan or not, as its track has housed many of the most notable races and is the largest in the world, with the capacity to hold 60,000 spectators.

Again, this location is not only a dream for horse racing fans, but it a very popular holiday destination due to its breathtaking beaches and beautiful weather. You will not be short of things to do as your trip will be full of entertainment besides the races with golf courses, restaurants horse-racing museum,s and multiple five-star hotels, one even being trackside.
