So you want to learn about the ‘great’ history Britain. Here are 3 books that you 100% should read.
#1 1066 and All That by W.C. Sellar and R. J. Yeatman
1066 and All That is English history book like no other! It's a mildly irreverent romp through 1000 years of English history. There are only two dates in the entire book - 1066 and 1945. This is not a book for someone completely new to English history, you need to have some understanding of what the book is talking about in order for you to get the gags. But if you do, you will appreciate why this book is such a classic.

#2 A Brief History of the English Civil Wars by John Miller.
The book is very brief, but it includes everything important. Also, it doesn't mention anything from other countries (Ireland, and Scotland) unless it affects Britain in any way. It is very clear.
